A coalition of leading digital health companies announced the formation of the Remote Monitoring Leadership Council, a new alliance aimed at accelerating the adoption of remote patient monitoring (RPM) technologies nationwide.
The council’s mission is to improve health outcomes and reduce costs by scaling access to high-quality, tech-enabled care. Founding members include Best Buy Health, BioIntelliSense, Cadence, CoachCare, CopilotIQ/Biofourmis, HealthSnap, and Impilo. The council is meeting in Washington this week to advocate for supportive policies with lawmakers and Trump Administration officials.
“High-quality remote care is no longer optional, but essential infrastructure for delivering consistent and effective care,” said Chris Altchek, founder and CEO of Cadence. “We’re proud to join the Remote Monitoring Leadership Council to help shape the future of health care, define clear standards for clinical excellence and advocate for the policies that will make this care model accessible to every patient who needs it.”
RPM services were first enabled for Medicare reimbursement in 2019 and have since been shown to lower costs and improve chronic disease outcomes. A recent study found that RPM saved $1,308 annually per senior with heart failure, hypertension, or type 2 diabetes.
Council members say RPM allows clinicians to proactively manage patients’ care at home, reducing hospitalizations and enabling patients to take more control of their health. The Council plans to work with policymakers to expand access, share outcomes data, and set quality standards for RPM services.
“This is not a pilot or a nice-to-have,” said Samson Magid, co-founder and CEO of HealthSnap. “RPM is a necessary infrastructure for modern chronic disease management. Now is the time for leaders to champion policies that ensure these programs are scalable, equitable, and built to last.”
