An osteopathic perspective on Match 2025: Additional specialties, including psychiatry

Osteopathic medicine emphasizes whole-person care, integrating physical, mental, and spiritual health, which is reflected in the increasing number of DOs matching into both primary care and specialties like psychiatry, said American Osteopathic Association President Teresa A. Hubka, DO. This year the Match 2025 saw a 42% increase in psychiatry matches, with 542 DO seniors filling positions, alongside growth in pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine, addressing critical healthcare needs post-COVID.
