Blueprint for VBC: The leadership mindset that drives lasting transformation

Fact checked by: Keith A. Reynolds

Jason Jobes of Norwood says successful value-based care transitions depend less on strategy, and more on communication, alignment and expectation setting.

For practices shifting from fee-for-service to value-based care (VBC), Jason Jobes, senior vice president of Solutions at Norwood, says effective leadership starts with communication and shared purpose.

“It’s all about communication and understanding,” Jobes says. “How do we make sure that patients are taken care of and that we’re keeping patients and care providers at the core?”

He emphasizes that aligned goals, shared incentives, and clear expectations are essential to prevent disconnects as practices evolve. “Far too often, people miss the outcome they wanted because they didn’t set clear expectations and communicate effectively along the way,” Jobes says. “They look back two years later and say, ‘Wow, we didn’t succeed,’ but nobody was having the hard conversations along the way.”
