Susan Dentzer, president and CEO of America's Physician Groups, shares the top Medicare policy she'd like to see Congress act on in 2025.

Medical Economics sat down with Susan Dentzer, president and CEO of America's Physician Groups (APG), to discuss their latest report, "Medicare Done Right."

During our conversation, I asked about the one Medicare policy change that Congress must prioritize in 2025. Her response was updating the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule to reflect rising practice costs — and keeping that fix in place permanently.

Without this long-overdue change, Dentzer cautioned, more physicians will leave the program, putting access and quality at risk for millions of senior Americans.

"We are not doing what we need to do to keep a robust physician practice alive and well," she warned.
