Why don’t more Americans get vaccinated against flu?

Influenza and pneumococcal disease (pneumonia) are recurring diseases that kill thousands of Americans every year. Yet fewer than half of American adults receive vaccinations for them. The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases recently commissioned a survey about Americans’ beliefs regarding the two diseases, as well as attitudes and practices regarding vaccinations. Results follow.
