Two thousand consumers offered their feedback on medical devices. Here are the findings.

A survey from Propel Software provides insight into growing consumer expectations for medical devices and how manufacturers must adapt. Based on feedback from 2,000 U.S. adults, the report highlights shifting demands around product reliability, usability, innovation and sustainability.

The findings suggest consumers are no longer passive users of medical technology — they want transparency, support and continual improvements. Nearly two-thirds would switch to a competitor’s product if it offered better reliability or user experience, putting pressure on manufacturers to prioritize both product quality and customer engagement. As home use and chronic care management grow, these consumer expectations are reshaping how medical device companies must design, update and communicate about their products.
