Most detailed brain map published

Scientists have published the most detailed map of the human brain yet, with one describing taking it from “a rough outline of a shoreline to a satellite view with topography.” Still, scientists say this latest achievement is a rough draft compared to understanding the brain in its entirety.

2023-2024 flu season ‘highly severe’

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study shows that the 2022-2023 flu season was highly severe, especially for children. “"Taken together, these findings underscore the importance of children and adolescents receiving a seasonal influenza vaccination, ideally by the end of October,” authors said in an interview. Children ages five and under are most susceptible to influenza.

Walgreens eyes $1 billion savings plan

Walgreens announced it plans to cut $1 billion in costs in 2024. As part of the plan they will to shut down 60 underperforming VillageMD clinics and exit five markets. “We anticipate seeing the impact of these actions in fiscal 2024, beginning in the second quarter," Ginger Graham, interim CEO, said in a statement.
