A new survey shows physicians are cautiously optimistic about AI’s potential, but still wary of bias, safety and patient trust.

Most physicians see artificial intelligence (AI) as a helpful assistant, not a replacement.

"The Physicians on AI: 2025 Trends and Insights" survey by HealthLink Dimensions found that while 40% of physicians are excited about AI’s potential, 41% still don’t use any AI tools at all.

ChatGPT tops the list among users, with far fewer turning to specialty, clinical-focused platforms like Pathway or BastionGPT.

For practice leaders and physicians evaluating how AI fits into their daily operations, the findings point to a clear takeaway: tools that save time, reduce administrative workloads and respect clinical autonomy are the ones gaining traction.
