A new study explores the reasons why obtaining primary care services is so difficult

Only about 1 in 4 U.S. doctors now practice adult primary care, “a tipping point beyond which many Americans won’t be able to find a family doctor at all” according to KFF Health News. The recently-released 2024 Primary Care Scorecard—a collaboration between the Robert Graham Center, the Physicians Foundation, and the Milbank Memorial Fund—looks at the reasons for the shortage of primary care doctors and how it's affecting Americans' access to care.
