2020 Overcoming Obesity Virtual Conference: Managing Obesity Across the Patient Lifespan

Article

OMA’s fall virtual conference begins Oct. 7 and ends Oct. 11

Between Health Education Week and the Obesity Medicine Association’s (OMA) Overcoming Obesity 2020 Virtual Conference, this fall offers healthcare providers and professionals from all disciplines more than one opportunity to advance their clinical understanding of obesity medicine. OMA’s fall conference launches Oct. 7 - Oct.11 and will empower healthcare professionals with the advanced clinical knowledge needed to develop effective treatment plans for patients across the lifespan.

But the conference will do more than just that. It will also deliver practical opportunities to prepare for the American Board of Obesity Medicine exam and learn how to build an effective obesity treatment plan. The conference also offers a chance to tap into a powerful network of the country’s leading obesity experts. Hear from the conference keynote speakers Dike Drummond, MD, the country’s leading voice on clinician burnout and Dr. Louis Aronne, MD, FACP, DABOM a leading authority on obesity treatment.

This year’s theme, Treating Obesity Across the Lifespan, delivers the tools healthcare professionals need to expand their clinical practices to meet the demands of a patient population that has had an increasing incidence of obesity over the past 40 years. OMA’s fall summit also includes several pre-conference and track options to customize your experience:

Review course for the ABOM Exam (pre-conference event): Prepare for board certification in obesity medicine at the leading Review Course for the ABOM Exam! The Review Course offers an updated, thorough review of the core content covered on the upcoming 2021 exam. Building an Obesity Treatment Plan: Advanced Cases (pre-conference event): Learn how to develop obesity treatment plans for patients with advanced adiposity-related diseases. This case-based course is intended to build upon the core concepts of obesity medicine and help you gain the skills to implement more advanced techniques in your practice.

ASMBS/OMA - Embracing Multidisciplinary Care – Medical and Surgical Care Under One Roof (pre-conference event): OMA joined forces with ASMBS to develop a course that is designed to expand the knowledge of the obesity medicine physician who might consider becoming part of a medical and surgical weight loss program.

Fall Obesity Summit 2020 — Virtual: This year’s conference features four separate learning tracks so you can focus on the information you need. Mix and match tracks to learn new skills to treat and manage obesity in your patients. Available tracks include: Pediatric Endocrine, Special Populations, Pharmacotherapy, and Bariatric Surgery.
