Medpedia, a free online medical encyclopedia for healthcare professionals and consumers, launched last month with more than 7,000 pages of content contributed by 110 organizations.

Like its older sister, Wikipedia, the reference tool's content is generated and edited by users. But in this case, only verified physicians and PhDs in the biomedical and health fields can register to publish. Consumers can suggest changes to articles.
