A new analysis ranks the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 19 metrics to determine which are the best for doctors in 2021.

In a disparate health care system like there is in the U.S. finding the right place to settle down and practice medicine can impact the success of a physician.

Personal finance website Wallethub has analyzed all 50 states and the District of Columbia to determine which are the best for practicing medicine.

According to a release, the analysis compared all of the states and the District of Columbia across 19 key metrics from the average annual wage of physicians, to hospitals per capita and the quality of the public hospital system.
