Telehealth regulations in Washington, D.C.: Bipartisan support, even in an era of political division

Congressional action could help or hurt availability of telehealth, which has grown to become a major part of the U.S. health care system.

Telemedicine and digital health technologies generally have had strong bipartisan support by state and federal lawmakers, including in the White House and the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. That likely will continue, although advocates do not take that for granted, said Kyle Zebley, American Telemedicine Association vice president, public policy, and executive director of ATA Action.
