Artificial intelligence (AI) programs could be incredibly helpful tools for doctors to use in treating patients. But technology also comes with a financial cost to add it to medical practices. Paul Berggreen, MD, a gastroenterologist and president and board chair of the American Independent Medical Practice Association (AIMPA), talks about how physicians could use new AI programs to improve their workflow and patient care. More broadly, Berggreen spoke to Medical Economics about the Policy Research Perspectives paper, “Physician Practice Characteristics in 2024: Private Practices Account for Less Than Half of Physicians in Most Specialties,” published by the American Medical Association.
