Most Expensive Drinks

Article

The end of the year is the time to break out the alcohol, whether you're indulging in holiday cheer, getting through a painful family get together or giving a present. Here are some of the most expensive in the world.

The holidays can be a time to indulge in some spirits, whether the reason is a little holiday cheer, getting through the family get together or perhaps a fancy gift.

Homemade holiday cocktails might be more common, but if you’re looking to see what rare and expensive alcoholic beverages there are out there, then take a gander at these drinks from Mainstreet.com.

But don’t get your wallet out, unless you’re willing to spend what some people do on houses. From beers to whiskey, this list has it all.

Glenfiddich Whiskey

Wikipedia

Price: $35,000

Expensive to begin with, the Scottish distillery aged a few bottles for 50 years, and one of those was auctioned off in the 1990s for the price of a luxury sedan.

Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne

Price: $2 million

A drink with such a long name has a lot to live up to. The cognac has been aged for a century and the alcohol is 82 proof. But the bottle is the real reason for the price — it’s covered in 6,500 diamonds and dipped in 24-karat gold.

“Flawless”

Price: $56,000

You’re paying for substantially more than the alcohol in your glass considering this London club cocktail comes with 24-carat edible gold leaf and an 11-carat white diamond ring at the bottom of the glass.

1997 Dom Romane Conti Wine

Wikipedia

Price: $1,540

This red wine was the most expensive on the market (not including bottles auctioned off randomly). In general, the Romane Conti wines fetch high prices.

Wray and Nephew Rum

Price: $50,000

Typically, a bottle would be just $20, but this particular bottle is the oldest rum in the world, so the price went up just a bit. Apparently this rum dated back to 1915.

Vieille Bon Secours Ale

Vieille Bon Secours

Price: 700 pounds ($1,138)

Compared to the rest of the list, the price might not seem so bad, but this is still a beer that costs over $1,000. It’s likely the world’s most expensive beer.
