Health care hiring: Big picture trends and techniques to improve your process

What physicians should consider when searching for staff and bringing the aboard in 2026.

Health care hiring trends happen across the nation when physicians and administrators report on characteristics of applicants and hiring processes.

They also are created right in front of doctors and practice administrators when it’s time to review applications or interview candidates.

GoodTime, a company that specializes in complex interview scheduling automation, this year published its “2026 Hiring Insights Report,” loaded with data about health care and other sectors. There are ways to translate the figures into things physicians can do and say when it’s time to add staff.

Report author Jake Link is director of brand and content at GoodTime. The son of a primary care physician, he also grew up working in his father’s medical practice. Link spoke with Medical Economics to discuss how physicians can compete for the best workers by streamlining their hiring practices.
