How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s the latest data, updated on January 12:

Positive tests: 22,324,541

Negative tests: 207,001,005

Number of hospitalized patients: 129,748

Patient deaths: 367,393

Total vaccine doses distributed: 25,480,725

Patients who've received a vaccine dose: 8,987,322
