How do physicians and pharmacists compete?

Physicians sometimes oppose expanding scopes of practice for pharmacists and clinicians such as nurse practitioners. Pharmacist know that doctors remain the captains of the health care team serving patients. Pharmacists want to assist, not replace, physicians in offering patient care, while cutting costs, said Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Georgia).
