Burnout and consolidation: Physician burnout is not abating

The president of The Physicians Foundation discusses consolidation in health care and how it contributes to burnout.

When the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, physician burnout persisted – and in some ways may have gotten worse. Administrative burdens remain high. Chief wellness officers may be well-intentioned, but either don’t have tools or support to help the situation. This is hurting access to primary care, said Physicians Foundation President Gary Price, MD, MBA.
