U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Chair Michael J. Barry, MD, discusses his education, training, career, and what first drew him to primary care. On March 15, 2023, Barry was announced as the chair of the USPSTF, an independent, volunteer panel of national experts in disease prevention and evidence-based medicine. Its state goal: “The Task Force works to improve the health of people nationwide by making evidence-based recommendations about clinical preventive services.”
