As the demand for doctors cools down, the base salaries of many specialties have fallen.

The 2021 Review of Physician and Advanced Practitioner Recruiting Incentives produced by medical search giant Merritt Hawkins laid out the base salaries of a number of specialties. It found that many specialties decreased.

These rankings are based on the 2020-2021 average base salary or guaranteed income offered to physicians by recruiters that were included in the report. It does not include production bonuses or benefits.
