Top 11 states for best health care

Prescription drug purchase manager NiceRx recently published “Top-Rated Healthcare: The U.S. States with the Best Healthcare,” ranking the 50 states and Washington, D.C., based on five factors:

• Percentage of “A” Grade hospitals for patient safety, based on the Leapfrog hospital safety grades
• Number of honor roll hospitals, according to U.S. News & World Report
• Number of hospitals in America’s top 50 hospitals, based on healthgrades.com
• Number of hospitals per 1 million people, based on populationu.com
• Number of hospital beds per 1 million people

Then, scores were compiled for a total on a scale from 1 to 10.
