Stigma for physicians seeking mental health care
The stigma of seeking mental health care for physicians and other health care clinicians and workers and assumptions of impairment due to mental health issues.
National Suicide Prevention Week is Sept. 4-10 and National Physician Suicide Awareness Day is Sept. 17, 2022. A number of organizations have joined to raise awareness and advocate for physicians. The Physicians Foundation, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation are three places to start learning more.
