Outlet offers in-wall charging solution

Article

Newer Technology has introduced its next generation Power2U AC/USB wall outlet, which it says is the first patented and UL listed device to blend into any wall as a standard power outlet.

Designed to be a convenient, centralized location for powering USB devices, the outlet now features national electric code tamper-resistant receptacles and is available in a new 20-amp model. Users can access two traditional three-prong AC wall sockets in addition to two USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 ports for charging iPads, iPhones, and other devices without requiring an adapter or encountering “plug barriers” that prevent multiple devices from being charged or powered simultaneously.

The outlet’s design only puts out enough charging power to meet the requirements of the attached device, and power is turned off to the USB ports when a connecting cable is removed. The outlet comes in four colors can be installed in a 16-cubic-inch electrical box.
