A third of Americans doubt they'll have enough money to retire, and more than a third are counting on family to help, according to a new WalletHub survey.

Seventy percent of Americans say a pension is better than a 401(k), according to a WalletHub survey of more than 240 adults. WalletHub ran the survey online Aug. 10-14 and weighted the responses by gender and income to reflect the U.S. population.

The respondents were not physicians. They were asked about debt, pensions, Social Security and whether retirement is realistic at all, and those questions apply to anyone saving for it, doctors included.
