Medical Economics building on success

Article

Medical Economics strives to provide the tools to build your practice. See what we've done and what we have in store.

It's our mission here at Medical Economics to give you the tools you need to be successful in the business aspects of your medical practice.

On the heels of our being named 2012 Media Brand of the Year by Medical Marketing and Media magazine, Medical Economics has won two awards in this year's national American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors competition.

We were recognized in the Best Single Issue category for our April 25, 2011, edition featuring innovative practice models, and in the Best Feature Article Series category for coverage of our annual study on physician earnings, productivity, and malpractice. That series appeared in three 2011 issues: September 25, October 10, and November 25.

Speaking of awards, please join me in congratulating Mary Ann Bauman, MD, one of our editorial board members, who has been named Physician of the Year by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Dr. Bauman is medical director for women's health and community relations for Integris Health in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she practices internal medicine. Among other professional activities, she is president of the AHA's SouthWest Affiliate and is active on several association committees supporting educational and care efforts related to cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Bauman's recent accomplishment highlights the high caliber of expertise we here at Medical Economics call on in order to serve you.

MAKE US EVEN BETTER

We're not going to rest on our laurels, however. You can help us serve you even better.

Share with us the solutions you've successfully used to address healthcare reform changes, electronic health record system implementation, ICD-10 preparation, the sustainable growth rate formula uncertainty, and other issues you face. We also welcome ideas for topics you'd like us to address to help you run your practice better, and any other insights you'd like to share with us.

We invite you to join our physician panel to possibly contribute to our editorial coverage. Please send an email to me at lbowers@advanstar.com
with your name, practice type, location, and topics you'd be willing to discuss with us or write about, as well as any specific thoughts you'd like to offer.

We look forward to hearing from you.
