Match 2024: Make regulations easier for physicians

AAFP president discusses the 2024 Match and the present and future of family and internal medicine.

Independent primary care physicians will thrive when regulators recognize the importance of value-based care, remove prior authorization burdens and relieve headaches caused by electronic health records. Steven P. Furr, MD, FAAFP, president of the American Academy of Family Physicians, shares his thoughts on the regulatory environment affecting primary care today. Furr spoke to Medical Economics in response to the record number of primary care positions offered in the 2024 Match.
