How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s the latest data, updated on January 28:

Positive tests: 25,230,559

Negative tests: 123,130,967

Number of hospitalized patients: 107,444

Patient deaths: 419,634

Total vaccine doses distributed: 47,230,950

Patients who've received the first dose: 20,687,970

Patients who’ve received the second dose: 3,801,053
