How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s the latest data, updated on February 1:

Positive tests: 25,816,099

Negative tests: 116,384,450

Number of hospitalized patients: 95,013

Patient deaths: 432,175

Total vaccine doses distributed: 49,933,250

Patients who've received the first dose: 25,201,143

Patients who’ve received the second dose: 5,657,142
