Scott Silvers, MD, FACEP

Scott Silvers, MD, FACEP, is relentlessly committed to delivering unparalleled, expert-vetted, clinical decision support in pursuit of improving the health outcomes of patients, well-being of health care staff, and value for the health care system as a whole. Prior to joining EBSCO in July 2025, he attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, New York, where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society and received the George H. Whipple Award for outstanding research. He received his residency training in emergency medicine at The Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was elected chief resident in his fourth year of training. Dr. Silvers was recruited to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida in 2001 to help establish academic emergency medicine. He served as chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine for 12 years which included several years as the national system chair for the Emergency Medicine service line. During his 20+ year tenure at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Silvers’ leadership helped to bring multiple clinical innovations to fruition including conceiving of and helping lead the development of a system of knowledge management (i.e. Ask Mayo Expert) that has since become the central repository of clinical truth for Mayo Clinic and the core knowledge base for most clinical decision support efforts.
