Appointment wait times are growing, according to new data from AMN Healthcare.
It’s taking longer and longer for patients to get in to see the doctor.
AMN Healthcare, a national medical staffing firm, published its 2025 Survey of Physician Appointment Wait Times, a tally of time spent waiting for an appointment with a physician.
The survey, conducted in January and February 2025, includes data from 1,391 physician offices located in 15 metropolitan areas, including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minnesota, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. Those cities were selected for their high physician-to-population ratios.
Which specialties can accommodate patients quickly? Which ones are booked out months in advance?
This slideshow presents some key findings from the survey. All data come from AMN Healthcare.
