Savings in the future on 10 prescription drugs for taxpayers and Medicare patients.
On Aug. 15, the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the prices for the first 10 drugs selected for negotiations with pharmaceutical makers who supply drugs for the Medicare Part D program.
The new prices will go into effect in 2026 with estimated savings of $6 billion for taxpayers, and another $1.5 billion in savings for out-of-pocket costs for beneficiaries.
