Coronavirus case numbers in the United States: APRIL 2 update

Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more.

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on APRIL 2:

Positive tests: 210,770

Negative tests: 939,190

Pending tests: 59,687

Number of hospitalized patients: 31,142

Patient deaths: 4,700
