With aggressive forms of prostate cancer, surgery may be considered, but might not be the best option for treatment for former President Joe Biden. Why was the disease undetected for so long? Based on health and screening guidelines, it may be possible for the cancer to go undiagnosed. Daniel Isaac, DO, MS, shares his thoughts about surgery and the discovery of the disease in the former president. Isaac is an assistant professor of hematology/oncology at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and an oncologist/hematologist for the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing.
