What should we do about physician burnout? How can we create a health care system that supports our physicians?
Physicians are facing an unprecedented burnout crisis.
Medical Economics recently completed our 2020 Physician Burnout survey, and the results show that physicians are facing an unprecedented crisis.
91% of physicians we surveyed told us they have felt burned out at some point in their career. More than 70% said they were burned out in the last year.
And then COVID-19 happened.
So what should we do about physician burnout? How can we create a health care system that supports our physicians?
And how do you know if you are just stressed or suffering from burnout?
I sat down with Wayne Jonas, MD, a family physician, researcher and author who is executive director of the Samueli Integrative Health Programs, to discuss ways physicians can address this crucial issue.
