American Telemedicine Association - An overview of state regulations

States have a role in governing telemedicine across the country.

Pending federal legislation is crucial for the future of telehealth, but state regulations are even more important because state laws govern many elements of how physicians practice medicine and how patients receive it. And no two are the same, said Kyle Zebley, senior vice president for public policy of the American Telemedicine Association and executive director of ATA Action.
