Medicaid and health equity: Strategies to start, part 1

Because of its size, Medicaid is a huge lever in advancing health equity. In August 2023, the Primary Care Coalition published the new report, “Access & Equity in Medicaid: Robust Primary Care is a Must.” It is a guiding document identifying eight strategies that could help physicians get paid more, patients get better outcomes, and chip away at years of inequity built into the U.S. health care system.
