Medicaid and health equity: Strategies to start, part 1

The new report, “Access & Equity in Medicaid: Robust Primary Care is a Must,” offers solutions for physicians, patients, and equity in health care.

Because of its size, Medicaid is a huge lever in advancing health equity. In August 2023, the Primary Care Coalition published the new report, “Access & Equity in Medicaid: Robust Primary Care is a Must.” It is a guiding document identifying eight strategies that could help physicians get paid more, patients get better outcomes, and chip away at years of inequity built into the U.S. health care system. PCC President and CEO Ann Greiner, MCP, explains the issue.
