Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on September 23:

Positive tests: 6,858,927

Negative tests: 86,611,799

Cumulative hospitalized: 397,749

Currently hospitalized: 29,448

Patient deaths: 192,741
