Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on September 18:

Positive tests: 6,641,341

Negative tests: 82,709,952

Cumulative hospitalized: 392,173

Number of hospitalized patients: 29,900

Patient deaths: 189,665
