How prevalent is discrimination in medical settings? To find out, the Urban Institute recently analyzed data from a September 2020 survey that asked respondents if they had experienced discrimination or unfair treatment from a health care provider or staff member during the previous year, and what they thought were the reasons for it. Highlights of their findings follow.
