The 14 states with the broadest increases in malpractice insurance premiums

Medical practice liability premiums are on the rise, but these states saw the biggest increases across the board.

A new analysis by the American Medical Association found that 14 states had broader increases in medical practice liability insurance premiums in 2020 than the rest of the country. And for most of those states, premiums not only increased, but it was also across many insurers.

All 14 of the following states saw premiums increase by at least 10%.
