Former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb, MD, takes on the idea of the physician shortage.

Former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb, MD, sat down with Medical Economics to discuss a variety of issues, including the physician shortage.

Gottlieb served as the 23rd commissioner of the FDA from 2017-2019. His work focuses on advancing public health through developing and implementing innovative approaches to improving medical outcomes, reshaping health care delivery and expanding consumer choice and safety. Under his leadership, the FDA advanced new frameworks for the modern, safe and effective oversight of gene therapies, cell-based regenerative medicines, targeted drugs and digital health devices.
