How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s the latest data, updated on January 18:

Positive tests: 23,627,890

Negative tests: 214,991,548

Number of hospitalized patients: 124,387

Patient deaths: 388,869

Total vaccine doses distributed: 31,161,075

Patients who've received a vaccine dose: 12,279,180
