How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s the latest data, updated on February 4:

Positive tests: 26,331,722

Negative tests: 117,886,913

Number of hospitalized patients: 91,440

Patient deaths: 440,922

Total vaccine doses distributed: 55,943,800

Patients who've received the first dose: 27,154,956

Patients who’ve received the second dose: 6,436,931
