How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s the latest data, updated on February 22:

Positive tests: 27,879,604

Negative tests: 125,799,737

Number of hospitalized patients: 56,159

Patient deaths: 489,060

Total vaccine doses distributed: 75,204,965

Patients who've received the first dose: 43,628,092

Patients who’ve received the second dose: 18,865,319
