The American College of Physicians (ACP) Internal Medicine Meeting has been canceled.

According to the ACP, the meeting, which was scheduled to run from April 23 to April 25 in Los Angeles, was canceled due to recent reports from the World Health Organization and the CDC about the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and vital role internal medicine physicians play in caring for those afflicted.

“ACP feels strongly that ensuring the health and well-being of patients is always of paramount importance, and particularly given these rapidly evolving circumstances,” a news release on the cancellation said.

The organization is offering refunds to those who registered to attend the event.
