The methodology and numbers behind Medical Economics' 2009 Exclusive Survey

Medical Economics 81stAnnual Continuing Study was conducted in May 2009.   The sample included 107,611 subscribers to various Advanstar-owned publications including:  Medical Economics, Geriatrics, Cosmetic Surgery Times, Dermatology Times, Urology Times, Ophthalmology Times, Contemporary Ob/Gyn, and Contemporary Pediatrics as well as physicians from the AMA master list maintained by Direct Medical Data.

Online survey invitations were emailed on April 23, May 6, and May 14, 2009 103,075 email address records were successfully reached.  A total of 3,352 responses were submitted, yielding a response rate of 3.3 percent.  The maximum statistical error at the 95 percent confidence level is +2 percent.
