Affordable parking? Head south

If you're looking for a cheap place to park your car every day, maybe you should head for Florida. The average monthly parking rate in West Palm Beach is only $38. That's compared to $298 in San Francisco, $375 in Boston, and a wallet-busting $432 in midtown Manhattan, says Colliers International, a commercial real estate organization. Monthly rates have gone up 3.5 percent from a year ago, while daily rates actually dipped by nearly 1 percent. The study compared monthly and daily parking rates in 55 cities, including 10 Canadian cities.
