News: Illinois investment firm hires FP as financial adviser

Article

Rockford, Illinois-based Savant Capital Management has hired Brian Knabe, MD, as a financial adviser.

Do physicians make good financial planners? The answer could depend on how well you invest your own money, but Rockford, Illinois-based Savant Capital Management seems to think so. Last month, the firm named Brian J. Knabe, MD, a family physician, as a financial adviser.

Knabe says a doctor could never ignore the established research in recommending an ineffective or counterproductive approach for a patient. "Yet most financial advisers and brokers knowingly do this all the time for their clients," he points out.

Knabe's evidence-based approach to medicine translates well to the evidence-based method of investing, says Brent Brodeski, managing director of Savant.
