Listeria milkshakes in Washington

Three people have died and three more were hospitalized after drinking milkshakes from an ice cream machine contaminated with listeria. The restaurant, called Frugals, is located about 30 miles from Seattle. All six people had weakened immune systems from other conditions.

U.S. air pollution reaches 17 year high

Air pollution rates in the United States reached a 17 year high this year. New York City and Chicago experienced the worst rates in 23 years. This was in part due to the Canadian wildfires earlier this summer.

Screen time linked to developmental delays

New research shows that anywhere from one to four hours of screen time at age one is linked to developmental delays in communication, fine motor, and problem-solving skills. Experts encourage parents to use other activities such as coloring books and if screen time is needed, parents can try using an educational program or video calling a loved one for social practice.
